Instrument Pilot Training Program

The instrument pilot program can be broken into three phases:

Phase one concentrates on controlling and accurately maneuvering the aircraft solely by reference with flight instruments. Clients will be introduced to Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) using the various navigation systems and equipment on the aircraft.

Phase two emphasizes working with weather, air traffic control and navigating the aircraft for landing using instrument approach procedures. Clients will learn about instrument navigation, IFR flight rules and fly an IFR trip with one of the instructor pilots.

Phase three is completed when clients can demonstrate proficiency in instrument flight from the above two phases and have the ability to fly safely in IFR conditions. At the conclusion of this phase, clients will take the FAA Practical Instrument Exam with an FAA Designated Examiner and will have instrument flying privileges added to their pilot certificate.
