Weather Theory Training
The Weather Theory and Forecasting Training
Module will cover weather conditions for all four seasons with an
in-depth look at:
Frontal
Weather - examines the practical aspects of safely operating in and
around cold, warm and stationary fronts.
Icing - examines icing forecasts, reports,
go/no-go decisions, use of anti and deicing equipment and how to deal
with an aircraft that has accumulated ice inadvertently.
Low Pressure Systems - examines all elements
associated with lows including rain, snow, freezing rain, sleet and
thunderstorms.
Thunderstorms - examines how reports/forecasts
relate to actual conditions, decision-making considerations and strategies
for flying with/without weather avoidance equipment.
Turbulence - examines the effects of turbulence
on aircraft structural limits, maneuvering speed and proper pilot
techniques during turbulence.
